Piano Lamps

HOW TO CHOOSE A PIANO LAMP    It can be difficult to know what style or size lamp to get for your piano.  The first requirement is to know what style piano you have and, if it is an upright type (the strings are vertical), what the height is.  Upright pianos come in several heights: spinet pianos(around 36-38") large spinet pianos (around 40-42", console pianos (around 45") and full size upright pianos are around 50-56"tall.  A Grand piano is one in which the strings lie on a horizontal plane, and the piano can be anywhere from 4'6" (a baby grand piano) to 9' long (a concert grand piano).

It is hard to find a better piano lamp than those from House of Troy. Made in Hyde Park, Vermont, their attention to every detail of the lamp from its design to its finely polished finish, gives the buyer a product of lifetime pride. You will find no other lamp manufacturer that gives the consumer the variety of Piano Lamp styles as does House of Troy.

PLEASE CHOOSE YOUR SELECTION CAREFULLY AS HOUSE OF TROY HAS RECENTLY CHANGED THEIR RETURN POLICY

The House of Troy piano lamps have been listed according to the 3 categories of pianos for easier browsing.  A good rule of thumb is: any Spinet piano lamp may be used on an Upright piano but the Upright piano lamps tend to be too short for most Spinet pianos.  Most of the piano lamps shown under Grand pianos are either too large or too specific for either a Spinet or an Upright piano but some of the clip-on music lamps may be used for Digital pianos or can be used as a music stand lamp. The average music book or sheet of music is 12" and the lamp shade ideally should be about 3" to 6" above it.  The light should also be able to shine directly on the music and not in the player's eyes.  In general, room lighting is not sufficient to light up the music and prevent eye strain when playing the piano.
